In 1833, a talented and intelligent watchmaker Antoine-Lecoultre established his own workshop and began his painstaking effort of producing the best watches for the public. Since then, Jaeger-Lecoultre has gained drastic development out of the founder’s first workshop.
In 1844, Antoine LeCoultre surprised the world by debuting such accurate and faithful components that neither a physicist nor an engineer could figure out the micron. Later he took the watchmaking industry by introducing the Millionnometer, which is considered as the milestone in the realm of luxury watches for more than half a century for its super accuracy.
In 1847, LeCoulture created another revolution when he developed watches that do not require keys to rewind and set. The keyless winding mechanism was the first in the history of watchmaking. Moreover, it was also the first trustworthy system that saved the trouble of winding or setting. His straightforward and wise idea was a fast accelerator that led to innovation from one function to another.
In 1866 when swiss based watchmaking was mainly carried out by pint sized home run workshops, Antoine LeCoultre and his son Elie determined to incorporate the many skills that are related to watchmaking. And they equiped a steam-driven machine to run their new instruments.
In 1903, the joint hearted effort of two young men Jacques-Devid LeCoultr and Parisian Edomnd Jaeger, the man who has created the world’s thinnest mechanical movement gave birth to the brand Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1937.
Since its establishment, the brand has spared no effort in creating miniaturize watches to beautify the wrist. For example, the Duoplan is a masterpiece of the brand’s essential machinery. Weighing only one gram and consisting of 74 sections, the Calibre 101 is regarded as the world’s smallest movement.
THis is how Jaeger Lecoultre watches becomes so popular
