Daniel Jean Richard is very much considered one of the founders of Swiss watchmaking and the industry all together. He was born in 1665 in the Swiss Jura Mountains. Fame and world renowned followed him throughout his years but eventually fell off. It wasn’t unil the late 1980’s that the brand was acquired by Dr. Luigi Macaluso. Like most horologists, his goal was to restore the brand to its former beauty and eminence.
In the early 1990’s, the brand was focused primarily on the Italian market and production began on new timepieces and collections. In 1999, Daniel JeanRichard has its first showing at the Salon International de la Haute Horologerie in Geneva. This is an extremely important occasion and they did spectacularly. Among the items showcased were the gold limited series of the TV Screen Chronograph and TV Screen Split-Seconds. Others were the Bressel Chronograph and Chronoscope.
A year later, Daniel JeanRichard starts to make even more additions to their collections to keep up with their ever rising fame. Most notably are the Grand TV Screen Flyback chronograph and the Bressel GMT Chronograph. In 2001, the first ladies wristwatches by Daniel JeanRichard are created. These beautiful pieces are the TV Screen Lady. Another addition is the TV Screen Milady 4 elements collection. This is a very unique, but wonderfully beautiful collection in which each watch has a theme of one of the 4 elements; Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.
